Leading the industry for 40 years
The Danish Wood Treating Company, DWT, was founded in 1977 in Denmark as a spin-off from a large creosote treating company founded in 1838.
The founder, Niels Moldrup, had a degree in forest science, but he was also interested in engineering and started designing wood treating vessels.
The designs were very innovative and successful, and so led to the start of DWT as an independent technology provider for the timber industry.
During the years DWT changed its focus and structure on a long journey and has traded under brands such as IWT and Iwotech also.
You will find these names on our older plants from 1980-2000. Since 2003 we have been WTT – Wood Treatment Technology.
More than 1100 references worldwide
Over the years, WTT has supplied and serviced more than 1100 plants in over 40 countries within different wood treatment technologies. These numbers make WTT by far the most experienced and specialized supplier of wood treatment technology globally. See our references.
The current ownership is held by Peter Klaas, who owns 50 % of the shares and runs the company on a daily basis as managing director.
The remaining 50 % are owned by brothers Anders and Kjeld Uhre. WTT is part of the conglomerate Eurocon consisting of seven service and manufacturing companies within the steel industry.
